GetReadVault vs Weava

Weava is a popular student highlighter for websites and PDFs, with folders, citations, and cloud storage. That breadth is real. GetReadVault does not pretend to match it.

• PDF: Weava highlights PDFs. GetReadVault does not support PDF highlighting today.
• Folders and citations: Weava organizes research into folders and can help with citations. GetReadVault uses tags and a local library.
• Account model: Weava is cloud-oriented. GetReadVault keeps local capture free and offline-capable; Pro is optional sync.
• Scope: GetReadVault is webpage text in the browser, with a sidebar or popup to review what you saved.

Choose Weava if

• Your sources are mostly PDFs.
• You need nested folders and citation helpers for coursework.
• You already live in Weava's cloud workspace.

Choose GetReadVault if

• Your reading happens on HTML docs, blogs, and articles.
• You want private local notes without standing up a research workspace.
• You will accept "no PDF" in exchange for a smaller, local-first tool.

If PDF is a requirement, Weava (or a dedicated PDF annotator) is the better current choice. GetReadVault should not be sold as a PDF highlighter.
